Over 10 million people already live in the Peruvian capital Lima. The city council is now digging deep into their pockets for a powerful expansion of the subway network: With an investment total of USD 5.8 billion, the new “Metro de Lima Linea 2” will be one of the most modern underground lines in the world. It will be 35 km long with tunnel boring machines and will be equipped with the most modern, fully automatic Japanese trains „made in Italy“ by 2021. For no unexpected problems to arise during on-site assembly, TSA’s concrete turnout sleepers were delivered to Spain in advance, where Jez carried out a successful prototype assembly. For ship transport, the sleepers are packed in a special “wooden cage” to avoid damage during transport and handling. After that, nothing stands in the way of setting sails across the oceans towards Peru.

Smaller deliveries of TSF-A turnout sleepers for Switzerland have been around for a long time in cooperation with our joint venture partner voestalpine, who has repeatedly supplied various federal private railways. At the end of 2016, SBB (Schweizer Bundesbahnen) finally signed off on a special turnout construction. After being impressed by the product quality and the production environment of their Alpine neighbours, the Swiss Federal Railways finally decided to secure the supply of turnout sleepers by expanding the range of suppliers.

Numerous milestones have already been achieved on Austria’s „western line” in recent years. As part of a mega-project, which will continue to be many years into the future, the east side of Linz Central Station was upgraded by 2017/2018 – including over 3,000 linear meters and switches + sleepers (WS220 and WS240) produced by TSF- A. Subsequently, the west side of the station will also be expanded to four tracks by 2026. Not only the western connection from Vienna to Salzburg, but also the route towards Passau is currently being expanded. In 2018, new wood-replacement turnout sleepers (type WS175HE) were installed at the train station in Wels, among others.
